Society Fellows nominated as Finalists in the 2024 Australian Museum Eureka Awards

A number of Society Fellows are among the finalists of the 2024 Australian Museum Eureka Awards—the country’s most comprehensive national science awards, honouring excellence across the spectrum of research and innovation, leadership, science engagement, and school science.

Presented annually in partnership with some of the nation’s leading scientific institutions, government organisations, universities, and corporations, the Eureka Prizes raise the profile of science and science engagement in the community by celebrating outstanding achievements.

Amongst the finalists in this year’s Prizes are:

• Professor Qilin Wang FRSN of the University of Technology Sydney, leader of the Sustainable Wastewater Treatment Team — nominated for the Eureka Prize for  Environmental Research
• Professor Carolyn Hogg FRSN and Professor Kathy Belov AO FRSN FAA of the University Sydney Threatened Species Initiative — nominated for the Eureka Prize for  Environmental Research
• Professor Anita Ho-Baillie FRSN of the University of Sydney — nominated for the UNSW Eureka Prize for Scientific Research
• Dr Jiao Jiao Li FRSN of the University of Technology Sydney— nominated for the Eureka Prize for Emerging Leader in Science
• Distinguished Professor Ian Paulsen FRSN FAA of Macquarie University — nominated for the Eureka Prize for Leadership in Science
• Professor Kate Jolliffe FRSN FAA of the University of Sydney— nominated for the University of Technology Sydney Eureka Prize for Outstanding Mentor of Young Researchers
• Associate Professor Alice Motion FRSN of the University of Sydney and University of Technology Sydney CLOAK Team — nominated for the Eureka Prize for STEM Inclusion
