The Society is delighted to learn of the awards to the following Society Fellows and Members who appear in the 2024 King's Birthday Honours List.
The following have been honoured as Officers of the Order of Australia (AO).
Emeritus Professor Suzanne Joan Hand AO FRSN, Emeritus Professor at UNSW Sydney, for distinguished service to palaeontology and zoology, particularly as a fossil bat and marsupial researcher, and to tertiary education.
Professor Thomas Maschmeyer AO FRSN FAA FTSE FMAE, Professor of Chemistry at the University of Sydney, for distinguished service to science as a researcher, innovator, and educator, and business through pioneering commercial technologies.
The following has been honoured as a Member of the Order of Australia (AM).
Professor Emerita Heather Goodall AM FRSN FASSA, Emeritus Professor at the University of Technology Sydney, for significant service to tertiary education, particularly social science, and to the Indigenous community.
