On Wednesday, 1 May, the Royal Society of NSW held its 1321st OGM and Open Lecture online. Scientia Professor Kaarin Anstey FRSN FASSA FAHMS, Deputy Director of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Population Ageing at Neuroscience Australia, UNSW Sydney, addressed the topic of ‘‘Brain Health Equity – a new frontier for healthy longevity’, discussing the evidence of environmental risk factors for neurodegenerative conditions, considering this evidence in the context of dementia risk reduction and brain health promotion, and outlining what individuals can do to reduce their own risk of dementia. She went on to discuss the socio-demographic and socio-economic factors that enable or prevent a brain-healthy lifestyle.
